Love Is

Christmas time is here.
Love this time of year.
Love.
What a word.
My heart is full of love.
Love can be an overused word.
We say it to one another almost on autopilot.
Love you.
Love ya.
Love is more than a spelled or spoken word.
It is to me so much more.
Love is going to a school where I can truly be me.
It is my Dad playing my favorite Christian songs on the long drive there each school day.
Love is Will singing when he thinks no one is listening.
Having limited speech, it is in the quietest of moments.
Love is in my Mom’s smile.
So much comfort there.
Love is looking at my Grandma Apps’ Christmas tree.
Each ornament has a story to tell she would say.
It is sitting next to my Grandpa.
Very few words spoken but so much love there.
I type this now and I feel God’s love upon me.
He is love.
I know this time of year can also bring heartache for many.
Sickness.
Loss of loved ones.
The fear of the unknown.
My prayer for you this holiday season is one of love.
Love is greater.
It is in the laughter of your closest friends.
It is in meals shared around the table.
It is in our words both spoken and written.
It is in each one of us.
Love is God’s promise in His Son.
May love surround you this holiday season and always.
“Speaking” of love, I would love to know…
What does love mean to you?
